Jesus Calls Disciples
Following Jesus
Matthew 4:18-22about 2 minutes to read aloud

Jesus walked along the shore of the Sea of Galilee. He saw two brothers, Simon Peter and Andrew, casting a net into the sea. They were fishermen.
"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men." At once they left their nets and followed Him.
A little farther along, He saw two more brothers, James and John, sons of Zebedee. They were in a boat with their father, mending their nets. He called them.
They left the boat and their father right away, and they followed Him. They did not look back.
In time Jesus chose twelve: Peter, Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew (who had been a tax collector), Thomas, another James, Thaddaeus, Simon, and Judas Iscariot.
They were fishermen and tax collectors and common men. They were not rich or famous. But Jesus knew them each by name. He would walk with them for three years, and teach them, and send them out to tell the whole world that the kingdom of God had come near.
