The Birth of Jesus for Kids – Simple Bible Story Explained

Every Christmas, we celebrate a birthday! Do you know whose it is? It's Jesus' birthday! This is the story of how God sent His Son to be the Savior of the world, starting as a tiny baby.

The Story of Jesus' Birth

A long time ago, an angel told a young woman named Mary that she would have a very special baby named Jesus. Mary and her husband Joseph had to travel a long way to a town called Bethlehem. When they arrived, the town was so crowded! There were no rooms left in the inn (like a hotel).

The only place they could stay was a stable where animals lived. That night, baby Jesus was born! Mary wrapped Him in soft cloths and laid Him in a manger—a feeding trough for animals—because there was no crib.

In the fields nearby, shepherds were watching their sheep. Suddenly, a bright angel appeared! The shepherds were scared, but the angel said, "Do not be afraid! I bring you good news of great joy! Today in the town of David, a Savior has been born to you; He is the Messiah, the Lord." The shepherds rushed to see the baby and praised God for the miracle.
