Lydia of Philippi
A Heart Opened Wide
Acts 16:11-15about 2 minutes to read aloud

Paul and his friends came to the city of Philippi. On the Sabbath day, they went outside the gate to a river. They had heard there was a place of prayer there.
They sat down. They talked with the women who had gathered.
One of them was Lydia, a seller of purple cloth from the city of Thyatira. She worshiped God.
The Lord opened Lydia's heart. She listened carefully to what Paul was saying. She believed.
She was baptized, and her whole household with her. Then she pressed them. "If you think me a true believer in the Lord, come and stay at my house." She would not take no for an answer.
Paul and his friends came. Her home became the first church in Europe. When the Lord opens a heart, the gospel finds a home.
