Joshua & Jericho
God Fights for Us
Joshua 6about 2 minutes to read aloud

After Moses died, the Lord chose Joshua to lead Israel into the Promised Land. The first city before them was Jericho, with walls high and thick, and gates shut tight.
The Lord said to Joshua, "I have given Jericho into your hand. March around the city once each day, for six days. Seven priests with seven trumpets will go before the ark."
On the first day, the people marched around the city in silence. The guards of Jericho watched from the walls. On the second day they marched again. And the third, and the fourth, and the fifth, and the sixth.
On the seventh day, they rose at dawn. This time they marched around the city seven times. The priests carried the ark of the Lord. The trumpets sounded, long and low.
Then Joshua called out, "Shout. For the Lord has given you the city." The people shouted with all their voices. The trumpets blew loud and long.
And the walls of Jericho fell down flat. Israel walked straight into the city, because the Lord had kept His word. The battle was the Lord's.
