Imagine being thrown into a room full of hungry lions! That's what happened to Daniel. But because he loved God and prayed to Him, something amazing happened.
The Story of Daniel
Daniel was a good man who worked for the King. He was smart and honest, and the King liked him very much. But some other men were jealous of Daniel. They wanted to get him in trouble. They knew Daniel prayed to God three times every day.
So, the bad men tricked the King into making a new law: "Anyone who prays to any god except the King for the next 30 days will be thrown into the lions' den!" The King signed the law. But Daniel knew prayer was important. He went home, opened his window, and prayed to God just like he always did.
The men caught him and told the King. The King was sad, but he had to follow the law. Daniel was thrown into a pit full of lions! The King couldn't sleep all night. In the morning, he ran to the pit and called out, "Daniel! Has your God saved you?" Daniel answered, "Yes! God sent His angel to shut the lions' mouths!" Daniel was safe without a scratch!
