Crossing the Red Sea
God Delivers
Exodus 14about 2 minutes to read aloud

The people of Israel went out from Egypt. The Lord went before them in a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. They camped by the shore of the Red Sea.
Then Pharaoh changed his mind. He gathered six hundred chariots and his army, and he chased after Israel. When the people saw the dust rising behind them, they were afraid. "Moses," they cried, "have you brought us out here to die?"
Moses answered, "Do not be afraid. Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. The Lord will fight for you. You need only to be still."
The Lord said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand over the sea." Moses lifted his staff. All that night the Lord drove the sea back with a strong east wind. The waters parted. The sea bed lay dry.
Israel walked through on dry ground, a wall of water on their right and on their left. Every family, every child, every lamb — all crossed safely.
The Egyptians rushed in after them. Then Moses stretched his hand out again, and the waters came rushing back. Israel stood on the far shore and saw that the Lord had saved them. Miriam took her tambourine, and the people sang to the Lord, for He had triumphed gloriously.
