Abraham & Isaac
God Provides
Genesis 22about 2 minutes to read aloud

Abraham and Sarah waited many long years for a son. They were very old when baby Isaac was born at last. Isaac was the child of the promise, and Abraham loved him.
One day, God tested Abraham. "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love. Go to a mountain I will show you, and offer him there as a sacrifice."
Abraham rose early in the morning. He saddled his donkey. He gathered wood, and he set out with Isaac. For three days they walked toward the mountain.
Isaac said, "Father, we have fire and wood, but where is the lamb?" Abraham answered, "God will provide the lamb, my son." They climbed the mountain together.
Abraham built the altar. He laid the wood. And just as he raised his hand, the angel of the Lord called out. "Abraham. Do not lay a hand on the boy. Now I know that you fear God."
Abraham looked up. A ram was caught in the thicket by its horns. He offered the ram instead of his son. He called that place The Lord Will Provide — because on the mountain of the Lord, it is provided.
