This Bible story tells us about the first man and woman, Adam and Eve, who lived in God's perfect garden. It teaches children about obedience, making choices, and the consequences of disobeying God's rules, but also about God's forgiveness.
The Story of Adam & Eve
Adam and Eve lived in a beautiful place called the Garden of Eden. It was perfect! There were delicious fruits, clear rivers, and friendly animals. They walked and talked with God every day in the cool of the evening. God gave them one simple rule: "You may eat from any tree in the garden, except for the tree of the knowledge of good and evil."
One day, a sneaky snake spoke to Eve. "Did God really say you can't eat from that tree?" the snake asked. He tricked Eve into thinking the fruit would make her wise like God. Eve looked at the fruit, and it looked tasty. So, she took a bite and gave some to Adam, and he ate it too.
Immediately, they knew they had done something wrong. They felt ashamed and tried to hide from God. But God knows everything. He was sad that they disobeyed Him. Because of their choice, they had to leave the perfect garden. However, God still loved them and promised that one day He would send a Savior to fix the broken relationship between people and God.

How to Explain This Story to Kids
Explain that God is like a loving parent who makes rules to keep us safe and happy. Just like you tell them not to touch a hot stove because it will hurt, God told Adam and Eve not to eat the fruit because it would hurt their relationship with Him.
Focus on the hope at the end of the story. Even though they had to leave the garden, God didn't stop loving them. He made clothes for them and promised to send Jesus one day. It's a great chance to teach that even when we do wrong things, we can ask for forgiveness, and God will still love us.
